Successful Implementation of IT Project, Tailor Made For Advocate General Sindh Office Sets National Standard, Serves As a Model For Other Provinces.

The Advocate General (AG) Sindh turnkey project under the planning and supervision of the Government of Sindh Information Technology Department has set the bar in advancement using IT to digitize records of on-going cases handled by the AG Office and dramatically boost the efficiency of it’s day-to-day operations. With the successful implementation of this project, Advocate General Sindh (AG) becomes the first AG office in the nation to adopt digitization of its operations at such a sophisticated level.

The system, a world-class solution implemented by Ora-Tech Systems (Pvt) Ltd is based on Oracle Universal Content Management System (UCM), provides advocates of the Advocate General Sindh office unprecedented access to any and all documentation pertaining to judicial cases currently being fought by its offices via any browser based internet enabled device.

The project, envisioned by the Sindh IT Department and implemented in collaboration with Ora-Tech Systems (Pvt) Ltd, dramatically enhances operational transparency regarding the AG Sindh’s daily activities on each case. The centrally held records will be stored digitally at the Advocate General Sindh head office in Karachi.

This central database of digitized case files serves to remove issues caused by the temporary unavailability of paper records and in doing so ensures that a running history of the AG Office’s current cases are preserved for future reference. This feature will be of great benefit to advocates and experts in the Advocate Generals office seeking to analyze the merits and issues of precedence in legal matters pertaining to relevant ongoing cases of a similar nature to the ones they are fighting themselves.

The system also includes other noteworthy features, such as the digital tagging of the AG Office’s reference materials and volumes; this will allow advocates to instantly track the location of volumes required for research and furthering legal arguments in current cases.

The project also equipped the various Advocate Generals Offices in Larkana, Sukkur, Hyderabad and its headquarters in Karachi with the latest in Hewlett Packard (HP) Hardware including Blade Servers & Storage and connectivity secured by SonicWALL firewall to ensure the system remains constantly accessible and can be frequently updated by the Advocate Generals office.
